Suits Season 8: Without Patrick J Adams and Meghan Markle
It is now official that Suits has been renewed for an additional 16 episodes. Season 8, though would be returning without two of main characters Mike Ross and Rachel Zane played by Patrick J Adams and Meghan Markle.
The surprise came when Patrick J Adams just announce that he will be leaving Suits as well. Aaron Korsh , the series creator, has confirmed the news where season 8 will be continuing without the couple Mike and Rachel.
Patrick announced that he had been thinking of leaving the show for a while. He attributes the decision to two major factors, one of which the time he spends away from his home along his new wife. The second factor would be that there’s no room for Mike (the character) to grow after his release from prison. The premise on which that character was born (a star lawyer who doesn’t have a practicing license) is no longer valid. His full interview with the Hollywood reporter can be found here.
What does it mean to the show?
Chris McCumber, president, entertainment networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment said in a statement: “After seven seasons, ‘Suits’ remains one of USA Network’s most beloved and popular series. While we’re excited for Season 8, everyone at USA will deeply miss Patrick and Meghan, and are grateful for the talent and commitment they brought to ‘Suits’ season after season. We wish each of them nothing but the very best.”
The new season will feature Dulé Hill as a new series regular. Mike and Rachel’s fate in the show will be revealed during the remaining non-aired episodes of season 7. The two are destined for a wedding that is most likely to take place in the season’s 2 hour finale.
